Israa University launched , on Sunday, 23/2/2020, an Internatioal Peer-reviewed Conference entitled "Development Prospects in Palestinian Reality", which was held under the auspices of his Excellency, Dr. Engineer Mohamed Ziara,  Minister of Public Works and Housing, in the presence of Dr. Ahmad Al-Haussaina, the President of the Conference; Dr. Nabil Abu Shammala, Project Director at Israa University; and Eng. Moa'in Bsesso, General Coordinator of the Reconstruction Office in the Southern governorates during the opening session of the Conference, with the participation of experts and specialists in development and administration. In addition to a wide range of official, academic, civil, private and media institutions in the Royal Hall of Chalets - Gaza City.

Dr. Ahmad Al-Haussaina, President of conference; Dean of Administrative & Financial Sciences,  welcomed the minister's visit and attendance, explaining that "this important conference touches a big issue that harms all Palestinian governmental and private sectors, which is specifically under unprecedented economic circumstances".

Dr. Nabil Abu Shamala, chairman of the conference's scientific committee, welcomed the attendance and participants, indicating that the conference comes as an embodiment of the university's vision as a national institution that takes its position as a center for excellence in the Palestinian and Arab academic scene.

He noted that the conference had been presented with 44 local papers, 21 of which had been selected after being decided by local and international specialists, and he wished that the conference would produce conclusions and recommendations that would provide creative solutions to support the development prospects of Palestine.
 
The minister also conveyed his greetings on behalf of Palestine's President Mahmoud Abbas, Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Ishtia, and all members of the Palestinian government, and their wishes for success to the conference and to Israa University for progress and prosperity, and for the promotion of higher education and scientific research, which will contribute to raising the level of university graduates. The Palestinian universities, which we cherish and pride in producing scientific skills worldwide, and in contributing to the achievement of sustainable development in Palestine, are the theme of the Conference.
 
In conclusion, the Minister extended an official invitation to Israa University to participate in the Committee of Sentinies, which was formed by the Government. He confirmed that the conference's conclusions and recommendations will be adopted in this committee.

This conference comes within the framework of the series of conferences held by Israa University , believing in the role of scientific research for the benefit it represents to the Palestinian society.
