The Faculties of Law and Humanities at Israa University, in cooperation with the Forum of Algerian Jurists and the Palestinian-Algerian Brotherhood Association, organized a scientific symposium entitled: "Repercussions of the Accession of the Israeli Occupying Power to the African Union", at the University's main campus in Zahraa City.

The event was attended by the university's Vice president  for Academic Affairs, Dr. Alaa Matar;  H.E. the Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the State of Algeria, Dr. Fayez Abu Aita;   the President of the Algerian Jurists Forum, Professor Fayezi Amina;  a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Algerian Parliament; Professor Yacoubi Ben Amor; the President of the Palestinian-Algerian Brotherhood Assembly, Professor Fateh Abu Tair  and the Dean of the Faculty of Law at Israa University, Dr. Tariq Derawi, participated in the activities of the symposium in the presence of a group of academics and specialists, and a number of faculty members and students.

The symposium included the presentation of a number of valuable scientific papers that discussed ways to strengthen the position of brotherly and friendly countries in support of the position rejecting the accession of the occupying Power to the African Union. A number of important results were concluded, as well as a series of recommendations that can contribute to strengthen the international public opinion in support of the Palestinian position and the Palestinian cause.
