On Tuesday, September 21, 2021, Israa University announced the inauguration of "Israa Medical City", under the auspices of His Excellency President Mahmoud Abbas "Abu Mazen", President of the State of Palestine.

This was during the ceremony of launching  "Israa Medical City"  in the hall of the late Dr. Ibrahim Al-Hassaina at the university’s main headquarters in Al-Zahra city, in the presence of Mr. Ahmed Helles “Abu Maher”,   representative of the President Mahmoud Abbas, Eng. Omar Al-Hindi, Chairman of the University’s Board of Directors, and Prof. Dr. Abdel Khaleq Al-Farra, President of the University.  In addition to  an elite of ministers, governors, university presidents, representatives of international, governmental and  local bodies,  medical, media and journalistic institutions, civil society, national and legal figures, and the members of the university’s board of directors.

For his part, Mr. Ahmed Helles extended  the greetings of the President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, assuring  his keen interest in education in Palestine and his great emphasis  on  Israa University as a  national, academic and  scientific institution, so that it would be the model that our people aspire to, and achieve their  goals of advancement,  progress and sophistication.

Mr. Helles stated:  "We meet today in the hall that holds the name of Dr. Ibrahim Al-Hasayneh, a name that means a lot of persistence, loyalty and continuity. This man was keen to leave an imprint that establishes a promising future, and left behind him those who carry this message and promote it, so that Al-Isra University remains On the way to achieving your goals.

Mr. Helles confirmed that Israa University is a qualitative addition to the Palestinian academic and scientific process in the homeland, as it is a university that presents a superior  model for a better future.

He added: " Israa University, in the event of  inaugurating the Israa Medical City today, it  puts its hand on an issue that our people desperately need, especially in the Gaza Strip. The medical city contributes to alleviating the suffering of our people and providing medical service in the Gaza Strip, which is a goal that all the keen and all the loyal have pursued ".

Mr. Helles continued: "We look forward to seeing this edifice and this academic medical scientific fortress fulfill its goals and play its role, and we are certain that very soon we will witness medical students of various specialties joining Israa University and learning in its medical city.

At the end of his speech, he saluted the staff working at this great edifice, including the Board of Directors, the University Council,  workers  all in his  name, and the students of this university, saying that President Mahmoud Abbas is always keen to provide everything that can be offered to this institution and other institutions in order to  rises and face all obstacles. This  effort and work aims to build the State of Palestine, which the martyrs and captives aspire to, and for which all our people work.

On  his part, Prof. Dr. Abdel-Khaleq Al-Farra, President of the University, said that the medical city will be built on an area of ​​27 acres and is scheduled to include all medical specialties, adding: “We seek to make Israa Medical City as a medical incubator that is  largest in the country.”

In his speech, prof. Dr. Al-Farra  stated, "the medical city includes many specialized medical departments such as the "Cardiology and Cardiac Catheterization Department, the Internal Medicine Department, Obstetrics & Gynecology Department, the General Surgery Department, the Oncology and Hematology Department, in addition to the Laboratories and Diagnostic Radiology Departments. The medical city also contains the Pharmaceutical Industries Center, Specialized Dental Hospital, Research Center, Hospital and Convalescent Center.

He pointed out that the establishment of Israa University Medical City and its various specialized departments will contribute to alleviating the suffering of our people, and will help in solving many medical bottlenecks in the Gaza Strip, saying, "The moments of pride and honor we are experiencing today are the product of enlightened minds who thought, planned and created."

Prof. Dr. Al-Farra added,  "The university is making its academic path and its way towards leadership and excellence at a steady and deliberate pace according to a vision and philosophy characterized by depth and comprehensiveness, and it expands to all national, Islamic, national and global dimensions".

It is noteworthy that the Minister of Health, Dr. Mai Al-Kaila, laid the foundation for Israa Medical City in August of last year, under a generous auspices of the Prime Minister, Dr. Muhammad Shtayah, and with a generous effort of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and scientific Research, Prof. Mahmoud Abu Mowais.wTaq9.jpegW9jtr.jpeg
