During his visit to Israa University, Dr. Sabri Saidam, the Minister of Higher Education, announced the approval of new educational programs at Israa University-Gaza. The Advisor to the president For Human Rights Dr. Kamal El Sharafi as well as Dr. Ziad Thabet and Dr. Ayman Alyazouri accompanied Mr Saidam from the Ministry of Education.
Dr. Adnan Al-Hajjar, President of Israa University, received the visiting delegation; Dr. Ibrahim Al-Hassaina, Chairman of the University board of Directors and all academic and administrative staff, employees, and students.
Dr. Saidam said that he had visited the university with a group of Palestinian finest men as a kind of respect for Palestinian national figures, professors, lecturers, teachers, academics, and students in addition toall staffs who work to change the course of education under the motto of this original institution (Change Towards Professionalism).
Finally, he confirmed that he would gladly attend the grand opening of the Main University Buildingin Al-Zahra city, south of Gaza Strip.
Dr. Saidam said about the university:
"This day is a Palestinian festival with distinction and I appreciate this determination and this genuine Palestinian motivation towards science and knowledge.”
"I am honoured and joyful to be among you today at Israa University. You are the witnesses of this moment in which the Palestinian reunion takes place. At this moment with everyone's determination and endeavour we will abolish the ominous Palestinian division for good and perhaps our gathering today is a clear indication of our determination and devotion”.
” I wished today the titans of the world who wanted to break your ambition; destroy your dreams; and threaten your land, geography, and your enduring love of Jerusalem to be present today to see and listen to the university staff and students and your persistence in order to realize that the Palestinian people do not know surrender.”
