In cooperation with the Federation of Health Work Committees, the medical clinic at the university hosted a lecture about detailing the benefit of early detection of breast cancer. The lecture was on October 16, 2018, at the University conference hall. Among the attendances, there was Dr. Ezzat Al-Askari (Dean of the faculty of Medical Sciences), Dr. Abdul Rahim Habib (Director of the Medical Clinic), and the training team and specialists from Union of Health Work Committees.
The lecture launched by Dr. “Habib" who welcomed the training team from the Union and stressed the importance of such meetings for raising the students’ awareness.
Finally, Reham Abbas, a nurse from the Union, reviewed breast cancer screening methods, such as breast self-examination, clinical examination, and mammography. The lecturer went over the methods one-by-one and described in detail and with props how self-examination should be conducted and what signs the person should look for.
The lecture was delivered in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is observed annually in October, on the university campus.
